Daniel
Baranoski (NAÏVE Member since 2002, NAÏVE Founder and current President)
Daniel Baranoski is
a graduate of Archbishop
Ryan High School in Philadelphia
and then earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Temple
University graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors in 1987. Dan has also attended West Chester University
for a Master of Science in Administration and the University
of Phoenix for a Masters of Organizational Management. Dan was hired by the Middletown Township Police Department in 1985.
He went to the Pennsylvania State
Police Academy where he was
president of his class. Dan was promoted to the rank of Detective in 1990 and
has spent his career specializing in narcotics law enforcement making some of biggest drug and asset seizures in Bucks County history.
Dan has extensive training and experience in drug law enforcement. Dan was awarded Police Officer of the Year
for 1991 for drug abuse prevention in the community and the Service to the Community Award for 2003 for creating the NAÏVE
Program. Dan retired from police work in 2007 and began serving as a Magisterial District Judge in January, 2008 - a
position where he still serves today.
Rosemary
Adiletto (NAÏVE Member since 2005)
Rosemary Adiletto
currently serves as Director of Prevention Services for TODAY, Inc. in Bucks County. Additionally, she is a training consultant for the PA Department of Health, Bureau of Drug
and Alcohol Programs, The PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency, the Center for Juvenile Justice and Research at Shippensburg University,
the PA Juvenile Court Judges Commission and the American Red Cross. Because of
her strong belief that the answers to social problems can be found within the community, she joyfully serves as project director
of Building A Better Bensalem Today, her township’s Communities That Care project.
She has been honored for her work by the March of Dimes, The Indian Rock Chapter of Soroptimist International, Bensalem
Rotary, Bensalem Kiwanis and was honored with the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania’s Governor’s Award for her work in Community
Crime Prevention.
Paul
S. Bingaman (NAÏVE Member since 2002)
Paul Bingaman graduated
from Neshaminy High School
in 1976. He attended Bucks County
Community College and Trenton State College, graduating with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Paul joined the Middletown Township Police Department in 1979 as a Dispatcher. He served
as a dispatcher until he was hired as a Police Officer in 1983. He attended the Pennsylvania State Police Officers Academy. In 1988, Officer Bingaman became one of the Police Department’s Firearms Instructors,
which he now heads. Officer Bingaman is one of the Department’s CPR/First Aid and AED instructors, and in 1998 he was
trained and certified as a D.A.R.E. instructor. Paul is currently assigned to
the Bicycle Patrol Unit, and works with a number of Community Policing programs throughout the Township.
Dori
Bower (NAÏVE Member since 2002, current Recording Secretary)
Dori Bower is a 1979
graduate of Neshaminy Maple
Point High School. She has attended
Bucks County Community
College where she received an A.A in Fine Arts and California
College of Arts & Crafts, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts
Degree with Distinction. She is currently employed at Educational Testing Service in the Computer Base Testing Production
Services Group. In addition to NAÏVE, Dori is a member of the Middletown Township Teen Task Force and is currently the Chairperson
of the Middletown Township Drug & Alcohol Commission. Dori is also on the prevention board of the Neshaminy Community
That Cares’ “Putting Kids First" and is a member of the Langhorne/Middletown Fire Company and Penndel-Middletown
Emergency Squad.
Linda
Brayshaw (NAÏVE Member since 2002)
Linda Brayshaw has
a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Masters in Education degree in Special Education.
She is certified to teach preschool, elementary education and Special Education at all grade levels. Linda has also taken some courses that lead to certification in addiction counseling. She is currently working for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit with preschoolers who have special needs. Linda has done some public speaking for Drug and Alcohol Awareness classes sponsored
by the Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. She is a member
of Pro-Act. Linda has lost her son Michael to the disease of addiction. She attended a support group called "Just for Today" at the Livengrin. Foundation, a group formed for people who lost a loved one to drug addiction or alcoholism. Prior to her son's death, she attended many programs pertaining to the education of addiction and also
family programs given by the many rehabilitation centers that her son attended.
Linda’s goal is to prevent other families from the pain of losing a loved one to the disease of addiction.
James
F. Cawley, Esq. (NAÏVE Member since 2005)
Jim Cawley is a graduate of Bishop Egan High School, Bristol Township, he holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Temple
University, College of Arts and Sciences, and was graduated Cum Laude. He received a Juris Doctorate from Temple
University, School
of Law and is a member of the Bucks County Bar Association. He was appointed
to the Board of Bucks County Commissioners and sworn into office on Jan. 18, 2005. Commissioner Cawley spent much of his post-college
years working in state government, and most recently was chief of staff to state Sen. Robert M. Tomlinson (R-6), where he
was responsible for the operations of the Harrisburg and Bucks
County district offices. In addition, as chief of staff, he served in an advisory
position on policy issues and worked on special countywide projects, such as economic development. Between 2001 and 2004 he
was an associate with the law firm of Rudolph, Pizzo and Clarke LLC. Commissioner Cawley long has been active in charitable
and civic affairs in Bucks County and is
an advocate for environmental protection. He is a former member of the Bristol Township School Board and current trustee of
Bucks County Community
College and a Commonwealth trustee of Temple
University. In addition, he is a member of various Irish-American social
organizations and plays a leadership role in Bucks County’s
annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. Commissioner Cawley also serves as the assistant parade director of the St.
Patrick’s Day Observance Association of Philadelphia. Commissioner Cawley and his wife, Suzanne, reside in Middletown Township.
Linda
Chamberlain, RN, BSN (NAÏVE Member since 2002)
Linda Chamberlain
is a registered nurse having graduated Temple University in 1968 with a degree in nursing and earning her Bachelor of Science
in nursing from LaSalle University in 1990. She has been employed at Saint Mary’s
Medical Center
since 1974 in various positions including nursing administration. Linda currently
works in Quality Management as an Integrated Care Coordinator. But Linda’s
personal drive comes from her unique qualifications from being the mother of a girl who became a heroin addict. Linda’s daughter Jennifer was shot and killed in Philadelphia
over heroin. Linda is dedicated to helping prevent other families from sharing
in this pain of addiction. Linda is also on the Board of the Bucks County Council
on Drugs & Alcohol.
William
J. Cowan, Jr. Esq. (NAÏVE Member since 2004)
William Cowan is a
1975 graduate of Neshaminy High School.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree with Cum Laude honors from Pennsylvania
State University in 1979. In
1982 he graduated from the Dickinson School of Law and was admitted to the Pennsylvania
and New Jersey Bars in 1982. In 1983 he was a founding member and partner of the Law Firm Cowan and Kelly in Langhorne, Bucks County. Bill’s firm is general practice law
and is the solicitor for the NAÏVE Program.
Nancy
J. Ennis, PA-C (NAÏVE Member since 2002, current Vice President)
Nancy Ennis is a graduate
of the Drexel University Hahnemann Physician Assistant Program. Nancy is a Physician Assistant specializing in chemical dependency. Since 1991, she has been providing medical care to patients at Livengrin, a chemical dependency detoxification
and rehabilitation center. Nancy is retired faculty
from Drexel University’s
Physician Assistant Program where she was Director of Biopsychosocial Issues in Patient Care and Director of Clinical Rotations.
She continues to lecture at Drexel and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine on the disease of chemical dependency.
Nancy’s involvement with chemical dependency arises
from her association with family members with the disease of addiction.
Erin
Joy Ennis BS, M.Ed. (NAÏVE Member since 2003)
Erin Ennis is a graduate
of St. Joseph’s University where she received a BS in
psychology. Erin obtained her Masters in Education from Holy Family College. Erin has worked with chemically dependent incarcerated
females through the Crime and Justice Research Institute. She was also employed
in the Mental Health Unit at Bucks County Correctional Facility. Erin is currently
a substitute teacher for the Neshaminy School
District. Her interest in addictions stems from her
experience with family members who have the disease of chemical dependency.
Vicky
Faunce (NAÏVE Member since 2002)
Vicky Faunce is married
with three children. She is employed at the Judy Sare Pre-School
in Bensalem. On November 6, 1998, Vicky became a bereaved parent as she lost
her son, Bill, to a drug overdose. From this tragic experience, Vicky has become
determined to further educate children and their parents about drugs in their own community.
Michael
G. Fitzpatrick, Esq. (NAÏVE Member since 2005)
With his swearing
in on January 4, 2005 as the United States Representative for the 8th District of Pennsylvania, Michael Fitzpatrick opened
the newest chapter in his distinguished career of public service to his native state. Michael served as a member of the Bucks
County Board of Commissioners since January 1995. He served as Chairman of the Board in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2002 and 2003. A
graduate of Bishop Egan High
School in Lower Bucks County, he was awarded an Honors Degree (B.A. 1985) from St. Thomas
University in Miami, Florida
and a Law Degree (Juris Doctor 1988) from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania
State University. Congressman
Fitzpatrick is admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is a member of the Bucks County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
He served as Special Counsel at the Philadelphia law firm
of Saul Ewing LLP. Congressman Fitzpatrick is an active member of his community.
He is the immediate Past President of the Bucks County Council, Boy Scouts of America and a member of many charitable, civic
and business organizations including the Temple Lower Bucks Hospital Board of Directors, the Conwell-Egan Catholic Board of
Advisors, the Knights of Columbus, the Levittown Bristol Kiwanis Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Brehon Law
Society. Mike is married to Kathleen and has six children.
Mary
Lou Kufta (NAÏVE Member since 2003, current Corresponding Secretary)
Mary Lou Kufta is
a 1970 graduate of Marywood College
with a degree in Elementary Education, K to 8. In 1989, she received certification in Special Education K to12 from the University of Houston.
She has teaching experience in elementary, secondary and college instruction. Mary Lou is employed as a Special Education
Instructional Assistant in a local high school. On December 10, 1996, Adam Kufta, her 18 year-old-son, died of asphyxiation
as a result of heroin use. Adam was in his senior year at Council
Rock High School. It is Mary
Lou’s hope that Adam’s death will serve some purpose so she works with NAÏVE to heighten community awareness and
improve intervention for families struggling with addiction.
William
J. Lorman, PhD, MSN, CARN-AP, PsyNP, BC
(NAÏVE Member since 2005)
Dr. Lorman is a graduate
of MCP-Hahnemann University
with a Master’s Degree in Nursing and is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. He also is a board certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist, has board certification as an advanced
practice addictionologist and has completed post-doctoral work at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis as a Freudian
psychoanalyst. He maintains a private practice with offices in Philadelphia,
Bensalem and Willow Grove. He received his doctorate
from the American Institute in Santa Ana, California,
and his doctoral work centered on the techniques and utilization of hypnosis in clinical settings with special populations. He is on the faculty of the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis where he teaches
Psychopathology and Psychopharmacology. Additionally, he is a faculty member
at MCP-Hahnemann University
in the graduate nursing program where he teaches in the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner tract.
Dr. Lorman is on the medical staff at Livengrin Foundation in Bensalem,
Pennsylvania, in addition to holding the position of Chief Clinical Officer. In his position he is responsible for all medical, nursing and counseling staff
along with all clinical programming. In his private practice, he works with adults
who suffer from a full range of psychiatric disorders - mild depression to severe psychosis - and he specializes in addiction
psychiatry. He utilizes a psychoanalytic-medical model and provides services
which include individual & group psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluations and medication management. In addition to his academic and clinical experience, Dr. Lorman has presented seminars on various mental
health topics and is a management and clinical consultant to several major corporations where he provides therapeutic and
group facilitation services. He has worked as a health care professional for
more than 25 years.
Cynthia
A. Lynch, LPN (NAÏVE Member since 2002)
Cynthia Lynch
is a high school graduate and is currently employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She
holds certificates as a Personal Care Administrator, Wound Specialist, and Intravenous Therapy. In addition to NAÏVE, Cindy also volunteers for Heads Up and Momstell.
She belongs to Grasp Grief Recovery after suffering through her own son’s passing from a heroin overdose. It is through her son Rob’s death that she has first hand experience on how
drugs affect real people. One of Cindy’s personal goals is to make the
public more aware of the danger of substance abuse.
Maggie
Marcopul, C.P.S. (In memoriam) (NAÏVE Member since 2005)
Maggie Marcopul has
been in the drug and alcohol prevention field for over thirty years. She began
as a volunteer who helped organize the first community-based prevention group in Pennsylvania. She is now Director of Resource Development and Training at Stedman’s Employee Medical Center in Bensalem, where she is overseeing new business expansion and heading up the
newly formed training division. Maggie has worked as a volunteer, as part of
a government agency, child welfare agency and a drug and alcohol prevention agency. For over twenty years she has been a trainer
for the PA Department of Health, Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs and more recently as the PA Commission on Crime &
Delinquency’s lead trainer in the Communities That Care mobilization model. She
has been a member of the PA Certification Board (for drug and alcohol professionals) for sixteen years, having served as Secretary
and as President, and has served on a variety of local boards. She played an
integral role in writing the Code of Ethics for the Certification Board, and has served as chair of the ethics committee for
over ten years. A Bucks County resident for thirty-three years, Maggie has been married to Dino for thirty-eight years,
and they have three grown children and two grandchildren. Maggie has
since passed away and will be missed by all.
Brian
McDonough (NAÏVE Member since 2002)
Brian McDonough
graduated Temple University
in 1994 with a Bachelor degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Brian graduated
Beaver College (Now Arcadia University)
in 1998 with a Masters degree in Education. Brian attended West Chester University for a Masters of Science
in Administration. He joined the Middletown Township Police Department in 1996 and was a Detective for 3 years from
1999 through 2002. He is currently assigned to the patrol division and is the
police liaison officer for the Neshaminy School
District.
Dickie
Noles (NAÏVE Member since 2004)
Dickie Noles, is currently
working for the Philadelphia Phillies as a scout and a minor league pitching instructor.
Dickie Noles played professional baseball for 16 years. He played parts of 11 years in the Major Leagues with
the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, and the Baltimore Orioles.
Mr. Noles was a member of the 1980 World Champion Philadelphia Phillies’ pitching staff and played a pivotal role in
the series when facing George Brett. It is said by many that Dickie's knock down pitch changed the momentum of the series
which allowed the Phillies to go on and win the World Series. Dickie pitched 5 innings, only giving up 1 run in the World
Series. He had a career that enabled him to go to 2 post season appearances with the Phillies and Cubs. One of Dickie's pitching
highlights was throwing a one-hitter against Tom Seaver and the Cincinnati Reds. Dickie
has created and implemented “SAVES” (Student, Attitude, Values, Education, Substance Abuse), a group of preventative
programs geared towards all age levels. He has presented this program to over 2,000 schools, organizations and communities.
He is nationally recognized as a motivational speaker.
Judy
Zuggi, RN, ADON (NAÏVE Member since 2002)
Judy Zuggi is a 1970
graduate of the Saint Anne Business School. In 1983, Judy graduated from the
James Martin School of Nursing. She graduated from the Philadelphia
Community College in 1994 and is currently attending Temple University for her degree. Judy has worked as a critical care nurse, a medical surgical nurse, a psych-nurse, a detoxification nurse,
and a long-term care nurse. She currently works as the Director of Nursing for
a 180-bed long-term care facility overseeing the nursing staff and administrative duties.
In addition to NAÏVE, Judy also volunteers for Heads Up and Momstell. But
Judy’s personal involvement in substance abuse education comes from her own personal experience of being the mother
of an addict and the loss of her son Frank from a heroin overdose.
